eta is now the leading provider in South Africa of courses that lead to fitness, sport coaching and sport management qualifications. Our programmes also address the capacity building and transformation needs of the South African society by providing scholarships to historically disadvantaged students coming from under served communities. As well as scholarships, our Special Projects Department caters specifically for learnerships, skills programmes and work place training in sport, fitness and recreation.
As a national organisation we have campuses in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Stellenbosch. There is also a satellite campus in Bloemfontein. We also offer a home study option with our Distance Learning office.
eta campuses combine class room, practical and experiential learning for our students to qualify in NQF registered diplomas and certificates. The learning programmes are outcomes based. eta is registered with the Department of Education; accredited with the Council for Higher Education (CHE) as well as with THETA, which is the SETA (Sector’s Education and Training Authority) governing education in the sport and fitness sector. eta serves the sports, fitness, leisure and health promotion markets and as such, also addresses the need for sporting excellence. Our vocational qualifications are particularly advantageous as they enable students to work immediately due to its brand recognition in these industries and the practical content of the programmes.
eta staff and faculty are role models in the industry. We offer school presentations nationally and provide training to hundreds of school coaches. Our students also enjoy prominent exposure when they are doing their practical hours and spend time in under served communities as well as recognised sport and fitness facilities.
